Joel Hodgson, creator of the Peabody Award-winning Mystery Science Theater 3000 will present his keynote address “How to Have a Job Like Mine,” in which Joel surveys his lifelong endeavors to entertain people in new and inventive ways, and how those endeavors, along with a host of diverse influences, led to the invention of the comedic art form of movie riffing. Also featured are photos, videos, documents and notebook pages from Joel’s personal collection illustrating some rarely seen projects and the creative process that helps brings them to fruition. A question and answer session will follow. After the presentation there will be a brief intermission followed by a secret screening of one of the 197 Mystery Science Theater 3000 episodes.
I would kill to be at this event… god.
